Wiring the Silent Brick Controller G-Series
If your Silent Brick System consists of multiple controllers and shelves (e.g., one controller and one shelf), you must first perform the following actions:
➤ Establish the internal network connection between the controller and the shelf.
➤ For this, use the connectors (19) for controller communication and the connectors (18) for shelf communication.
➤ Establish the SAS connection. For this, use the SAS connectors (17).
If your Silent Brick System consists of a single device, or if you have already connected multiple devices together, proceed as follows:
➤ Connect the Ethernet Loop Cable to a Silent Brick Controller G5000 Rev. 1 to link the controller with its internal bricks.
➤ Connect the Ethernet Loop Cable and the SAS Loop Cable to a Silent Brick Controller G5000 Rev. 2 to link the controller with its internal bricks.
➤ Connect the Ethernet Loop Cable and both SAS Loop Cables to a Silent Brick Controller G5200 to link the controller with its internal bricks.
➤ For this, use the connectors (19) for controller communication and the connectors (18) for shelf communication.
➤ Connect the device to the management network (optional).
➤ Use the management ports (20) for this purpose.
➤ Connect the device to the data/management network.
➤ Use the data connections (21) for this purpose.
➤ Connect the device to the power supply.
➤ Use the connections on the power supplies (16) for this purpose. If possible, connect each power supply to a separate circuit.
