Additional Global Settings
In the 'Miscellaneous' section, you can configure the date, time, and automatic log off. The log off function ensures that the user is automatically logged out after a specified period of inactivity.
Set Date and Time
Changing the time zone has significant effects on system operation. A reboot is strongly recommended after making any changes.
To set the date and time, proceed as follows:
➤ Click the 'Edit' button in the 'Date & Time' section.
➤ The 'Date & Time' window will open.
➤ Enter the IP address for NTP Server 1.
➤ Enter the IP address for NTP Server 2.
➤ Select a time zone.
➤ The current date and time are displayed automatically.
➤ To confirm your entries, click the “Save” button.
➤ To cancel your entries, click the "Cancel" button.
Configure Log Off
To configure the automatic log off, proceed as follows:
➤ In the 'User Interface Auto Log Off After No Activity' section, click the 'Edit' button.
➤ The 'User Interface Auto Log Off Timeout' window will open.
➤ Select the duration after which the user will be logged off automatically.
➤ To confirm your input, click the "Save" button.
➤ To cancel your selection, click the button "Cancel".
Configure Temperature Unit
To configure the temperature display unit, proceed as follows:
➤ In the 'Temperature Unit' section, click the 'Edit' button.
➤ The 'Temperature Unit' window will open.
➤ Select either Celsius or Fahrenheit.
Configure Default Slot of the Tape Library
When adding additional Bricks to an existing virtual Tape Library, they are by default placed directly into an available slot. Connected software detects this through a tape import operation.
By changing this setting, new tapes are added to the virtual Tape Library via the virtual I/O slot and can be imported and correctly placed in the connected software using its import function.
➤ Click the “Edit” button in the “Default Slot for New Library Bricks” section.
➤ The “Default Slot for New Library Bricks” window opens.
➤ Select either I/O Slot or Storage Slot.
Configure Automatic Secure NAS Import
To activate the automatic import of newly inserted Secure NAS Bricks, proceed as follows:
➤ Click the “Edit” button in the section “Handling of New Inserted Volume Bricks”.
➤ The “Handling of New Inserted Volume Bricks” window opens.
➤ Select the option “Import Volumes Automatically”.
➤ To confirm your input, click the "Save" button.
➤ To cancel your selection, click the button "Cancel".
Edit the size of the index partitions
Adjustment of this value is expressly recommended only after consultation with FAST LTA GmbH support.
Under “Index Partition Size Defaults”, the default values for the size of the index partitions in the WORM archive area and the Secure NAS ERC area can be modified. These values apply to SNAS ERC Volumes and Archives created in the future, as well as to Silent Bricks added to existing SNAS ERC Volumes or Archives.
Set System ID
The System ID is an internal identifier provided with your maintenance contract from FAST LTA.
During login, the system continuously requests this ID until it has been entered.
To edit the System ID, proceed as follows:
➤ Click the "Edit" button in the "System ID" section.
➤ The "System ID" window will open.
➤ Enter the correct System ID.
