Silent Brick Controller

The controllers and extension Shelves of the Silent Brick System G series are available as follows, each including a corresponding set of rack rails:

  • Silent Brick Drive

  • Silent Brick Drive Plus

  • Silent Brick Controller

  • Silent Brick Extension Shelf

The controllers of the Silent Brick System X series are available as follows, each including a corresponding set of rack rails:

  • Silent Brick Controller X40 Serie

  • Silent Brick Controller X50 Serie

  • Silent Brick Controller X60 Serie

These components are described in greater detail in the following sections.

The Rack Rails

The rack rail set is used for the assembly of the controller or Shelf in a 19-inch rack.

Operating Conditions

Risk of property damage due to unsuitable operating conditionsThe components of the Silent Brick Library may be damaged if the device is operated outside its specified operating conditions. Use the device only within its specified operating conditions.

The following conditions must be met to ensure proper device operation:

  • The deployment location must be dry and free of dust.

  • The optimal ambient temperature at the deployment location is between +15°C and +25°C.

  • The ambient temperature at the deployment location must not exceed 38°C.

  • The humidity at the installation site must not exceed 65%.

  • The system must not be operated above 2000 meters above sea level.

  • If the components are installed in an assembly that can also accommodate other units, the temperature inside the assembly may rise above the ambient temperature and potentially exceed the maximum permissible ambient temperature for the components. Ensure that no ventilation openings are covered after assembly to maintain adequate air circulation.

  • The mechanical seating elements within the assembly must be designed to support the weight of the components.

  • Due to the total gross weight, a fully equipped Silent Brick Shelf must be mounted on a robust shelf board.

  • Do not overload the electrical connections of the power supply. Please refer to the technical specifications in the manual.

  • A reliable grounding must always be ensured. Please note that integrating multiple components can lead to an aggregation of their respective leakage currents, potentially resulting in an impermissibly high leakage current (e.g., when a component is installed in a rack that can also accommodate additional units).

Nameplate

The nameplate is affixed as a sticker on one side of the controller housing or the Shelf housing. The nameplate contains the following information:

  • Product designation

  • Serial number

  • Barcode

  • Performance characteristics

  • CE marking.
