Replace data carrier - Silent Brick Air / FLASH / Plus

Risk of property damage due to improper handlingHard disks can be damaged or destroyed if their top and bottom sides are compressed together. Handle and press hard disks only at their edges.

  • To eject a Brick, one of the following conditions must be met:

  • The Brick is not in use and has been placed by the connected software into the 'Export slot'.

  • The Brick is not in use and has been set to 'Unlock for Eject' via the configuration interface.

To replace a hard disk, proceed as follows:

  • ➤ Swipe your finger across the Brick's touchscreen.

  • ➤ The Brick automatically extends a few centimeters from the controller/shelf.

  • ➤ Grasp the Brick by its handle and pull it completely out of the controller/shelf.

  • ➤ Hold the Brick firmly by its handle (1).

  • ➤ A: Pull the lever (8) on the back of the Brick upwards.

  • ➤ Ensure that the Brick does not unintentionally slip out of the Brick enclosure.

  • ➤ B: Pull the Brick out of the Brick enclosure by its handle.

  • ➤ Slide the hard disk locking mechanism upwards.

  • ➤ Pull the hard disk out of its slot.

  • ➤ Insert the new hard disk into its slot.

  • ➤ Close the hard disk locking mechanism.

  • ➤ Slide the Brick into the Brick enclosure until it locks into place.

  • ➤ Slide the Brick into the slot of the controller/Shelf until the automatic intake engages the Brick.

  • ➤ The Brick is automatically pulled in by the controller/Shelf.
