If you would first like to get to know how the Silent Cube long-term storage system works in a relaxed, non-binding way, simply do not connect any storage units to the Head Unit yet. Without connected storage units, you can create what are known as "simulated volumes" in the user interface, which simulate archiving to the storage units, i.e. no files are written to the storage units. This allows you to try out the system's functions and then undo them again at the end.
Advantages for you:

Unlike normal operation, no data is archived during test operation. This rules out the possibility of accidentally storing data on the Silent Cubes.

All data in shares, the shares themselves, and also the simulated volumes can always be deleted

No storage space is consumed. As a reminder: in normal operation, once files have been stored, they can subsequently be neither modified nor deleted.
Caution: The Simulate archiving for test purposes function is not the default setting in the dialog window when creating volumes. To set up test operation, please activate this function.
Delete the simulated data in the following order to prepare the Head Unit for production operation after test operation:

Delete all files and directories

Remove all shares

Remove the volumes
