Operating Conditions

Risk of property damage due to unsuitable operating conditions The components of the Silent Brick Library can be damaged if the device is operated outside its specified operating conditions. Operate the device only within its specified operating conditions.

The following conditions must be met to ensure proper operation of the devices:

  • The installation site must be dry and free of dust.

  • The optimal air temperature at the installation site is between +15°C and +25°C.

  • The air temperature at the installation site should not exceed 38°C.

  • The humidity at the installation site should not exceed 65%.

  • The system must not be operated at altitudes above 2000 meters above sea level.

  • If the components are installed in a rack that can also accommodate other units, the temperature inside the rack may rise above the ambient temperature, potentially exceeding the maximum allowable ambient temperature for the components. Ensure that no ventilation openings are covered after installation to maintain adequate air circulation.

  • The mechanical mounting elements within the rack must be designed to support the weight of the components.

  • Due to the overall gross weight, a fully equipped Silent Brick Shelf must be mounted on a sturdy shelf base.

  • Do not overload the electrical connections of the power supply. Please refer to the technical specifications in the Manual.

  • A reliable grounding connection must always be ensured. Please note that integrating multiple components can cause an aggregation of their respective leakage currents, potentially resulting in an impermissibly high leakage current (e.g., when a component is installed in a rack that also accommodates additional units).

Nameplate

The nameplate is affixed as a sticker on one side of the controller or Shelf enclosure. The nameplate contains the following information:

  • Product name

  • Serial number

  • Barcode

  • Key features

  • CE marking.
